Study participants

ZEG Berlin conducts drug safety studies to better understand the risks and benefits of medicines and medical devices. Participation in these studies involves the collection and use of personal and health-related information. To protect your privacy, all data are pseudonymized, meaning that identifying information (such as name and contact details) is stored separately from health data, and access is limited to authorized personnel only.

Participation in a study is voluntary and based on your informed consent, which allows us to collect and process your data for research purposes. You may withdraw your consent at any time and request the deletion of your data, in accordance with applicable legal requirements.

Your contact details are used only in connection with your study participation and are not shared with third parties. Health-related data are securely transferred and analyzed to support research on the safety and effectiveness of treatments.

In certain cases, ZEG Berlin may be legally required to share pseudonymized data with regulatory authorities. All data are handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws, and ZEG Berlin is committed to ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and security of all participant information.

As a study participant you have the following rights to your data:

• you may withdraw consent to participate in the study at any time. A withdrawal means that no further data about you will be collected and you will not be contacted by us or any third-parties. ZEG Berlin maintains the right to use data already collected for research (study) purposes.
• you may request deletion of your data. Data deletion requests can only be approved if there is no legal impediment to your data being deleted or your data are no longer required
• you may request to access (review) personal data we have about you
• you may request a copy of your personal information
• you may have your personal information amended, corrected or deleted
• you may object to and restrict the processing of personal information
